Guitar chord progression?

I wrote this poem and I need to present it. I want to play my guitar with it. Since the poem is about death, I want it to be sad. Does anyone know really sad guitar chord progressions?
I wrote the poem myself!!! I dont want to steal from anyone, I just want ideas. Come on, i've been playing guitar for 2 months. Give me a break!!

Minor chords have a sad tone to them so why not generate your own chord progression with the help of this tool - just click on the page to chage the chord progression and keep changing and trying it until you find one that is right for your song ... Http://www.palojono.com/dev/chord_progre...
If it's not sad enough, try changing some of the major chords to minor chords until you find a chord progresion that fits the words you have?

The term "chord progression" has a universal meaning in all music, regardless of instrument(s).

It is a series of different chords which to the listener seem to have some sense of direction, away from the home key (do, re, mi - 'do' being the home tone). A progression needs three different chords to sound like it is 'going somewhere.'

In traditional harmony, chords are built off of one of the seven notes of a scale. The Triads, the most basic type, are always spelled with every other letter of the alphabet. CEG, EGB, FAC, BDF, etc.

In pop music, there is a term "Power chord", but it is only made up of two different notes, not three. Us classical folk do not call that a chord. Power chord on C = C,G,C. - only two pitches.

Best regards.

Chord Progressions are the foundations on which a song is built. They are a collection of chords played in an order, and which the melody is sung over. In modern pop music, there are only usually FOUR different chords used (a large generalisation I know), and most pop songs are made up by ordering them in different ways. These four chords (in the key of G major) are G major, D major, E minor and C major. If you learn just these four chords on the guitar you can play pretty much every pop song of the past 30 years!

Try playing the four chords mentioned, with four strums on each, and sing the melody to 'don't stop believing' or Jason Mraz's 'I'm yours'.

When you find the chords to a song that you want to learn (you can find chords verrrry easily on the internet), they will be displayed as a CHORD SEQUENCE. Learn the chords (if you don't know em) and get cracking!
